The U1000 is not a bad choice. It's an expensive choice that needs to be paired with the right power setup. If you park in a garage with a trickle charger, great. If you park on the street and only drive on weekends, you need to budget for an external battery or the Thinkware OBD-II power cable with voltage cutoff. I learned this after a customer's SUV wouldn't start on a Monday morning. The dash cam recorded all weekend. That was the problem.
